St-Julien, Bordeaux, France
Grape Variety: Bordeaux Blend Red
Alcohol Level: 13.5%
The second wine of Gruaud-Larose, farmed organically. Not overblown. Well mannered with an undertow of the drama of the vintage. Drink 2013-2020 by "Jancis Robinson" (4/2013)
A little leaner, with blueberry and currant character, medium body and a firm finish by "James Suckling" (2/2012)
"This has a nice beefy edge, offering roasted fig, plum and warm tobacco leaf notes, with bittersweet cocoa inlaid on the slightly gutsy finish. On the rustic side, but solid and winey. This second wine is also released under the Larose de Gruaud label. Best from 2013 through 2020" by Wine Spectator
